The Last Sunset Of Life
Means Mercy - Empathy - Dare - Integrity - Care - Inventiveness – Nobility and saving the career of our hardworking honest & intellectual Lot..Shehla’s life was fighting against death in ICU. Sixteen to 18 years young girl tried to end her life because she was unable to find opportunity to achieve her aim to secure admission in medical college in spite of securing 80% marks in F.Sc and entry test. For a while I reviewed in my mind the nerve breaking struggles she did in addition to the hardships faced by her parents i.e. her pick and drop , disturbance of whole family as budget to pay her college and academy fee and dues. Moreover parents used to call her as MBBS doctor and further attached their dreams to their beloved daughter’s medical career. Instead of achieving admission in medical College she was admitted in medical intense care unit for her life rescue. Where is the fault of this young angel who sacrificed her social life activities just for her aim. It is not a single story but a unit representing 60% hardworking, honest and highly motivated youth which we waste every year deliberately because of the provision of non-rationalized number of medical colleges against the population. Our wisdom just revolve to change the entry test criteria to make the competition strong and stronger. There is earning of academies and those officials who involve in the corruption of entry test papers sale and purchase.

Education is necessary as it provides an individual, equipped with values, skills, beliefs and moral habits. A planned education contributes in a positive direction not only beneficial for an individual but also for the society. It prepares youth to play an effective role in academics, political, civic, social and economic sphere of life. A quality education is the key to open the empire of success for a learner and the learner becomes economically productive, valuable asset of the society. Play a peaceful and democratic role and enhance individual well-being. Moral education helps to make an individual as honest, responsible and a compassionate member of the nation and society.
People make nation strong when they are given opportunities to play their role in achieving their aim of professional life. In Pakistan, the Scenario is worse as our policy makers and responsible people are not paying attention to this most important issue. Our students have their aims to become doctors and engineers but no.of medical colleges in Pakistan are very small to cope the necessity of the population size. After a nerve breaking efforts students get above than 80% marks in F.Sc. premedical subjects but have no guarantee. Is there any suitable career for those students who are unable to get the admissions in medical colleges? They are wasted . Forcefully included in degree holder lot. Increasing the pressure of flood of unemployed number of young people.
In Pakistan due to less numbers of medical colleges a million of young hardworking students’ careers even lives are deliberately ruined. As “Every great achievement starts with the decision to try and confidence to do”. Almost 150000 students appear every year in entry test for the admission in 114 Public and private medical colleges in Pakistan. 44(38%) are public and 70 (62%) private. Punjab and federal areas have 62 (53%) 19 public and 43 private, Sindh has 26 total 11 public and 15 private, KPK has 20 total 10 public and 10 Private While Azad Kashmir has 40 medical colleges 3 public and 01 Private. Just 15000 (10%) lucky students achieve admissions in above mentioned medical colleges. Every year millions of intellectual hardworking lot of students have to shatter their dreams just because of government and policy makers fault. Not only their fault but our crime, we do not demand medical colleges for our youth our demands and preferences are trivial just luxuries. Well we have not planned about medical colleges yet but how long we will compromise with our future? Now it is time to wake up, time to do something for our nation and country, not merely to speak but to do practically. As “a journey of thousands miles starts with a single step”. In order to overcome the shortage of doctors in Pakistan, increase in number of medical colleges’ utmost demand of the day.
There are 3000 medical colleges in the world with India 532, Brazil 277, China 194, USA 192 and Pakistan stands on fifth position in the world in this regard with 114. India’s annual intake in its medical colleges is 76753 and Pakistan 15000. We should pay attention on the establishment of medical colleges in Pakistan so that a single student should not be wasted. “It is the time yes right now, It is the time to make it now”. We must give first priority to the development of medical colleges in the country. “Everything is easy when you are crazy about it, and nothing is easy when you are lazy about it”. We must establish a medical college in a tehsil of Pakistan. Surely, People of the specific tehsil will contribute in the development of medical college in their tehsil for the interpretation of their dreams about the future of their youth. In this way there would be the increase of the number of teaching Hospitals and people will get quality medical facility at their door steps. Now our hospitals are overcrowded while establishment of the medical colleges will solve the gigantic problem of the nation. People no more will be hunted by quacks and so called PEERS.
